over 3 years ago – Thu, Jan 21, 2021 at 06:43:32 AM

Good morning backers,

We are on the cusp of 13k with ten days left. Welcome new backers, and thanks to existing backers for adding to the pledges. Looks like we're going to need about 20 more backers to get over the finish line, so keep spreading the good word!

Today's post features one of the basic characters, The Old Timer, a natural-born sidekick, perfect for team play.

Thanks everyone, and keep those questions and comments coming.

All the best,

Forrest

Hi backers,

Mitch Reed, host of the No Dice No Glory game podcast (and our first backer), was kind enough to interview me about the game!  The full interview is posted on Youtube:

Please take a listen and hear how this game came about, a little about the history of Knuckleduster Miniatures, and the experience Mitch has had with the Demo game he's been playing.

Keep up the good work everyone!

MODULAR MAP KIT ADD-ON!
over 3 years ago – Tue, Jan 19, 2021 at 05:16:23 AM

Good morning backers,

It all started with a suggestion from a backer: create a modular map system so players can use their own creativity to design their play space. The heavy lifting was done over the summer when we created the art assets used to design the board in the basic game, so the graphics were no problem. I got a price quote from one of my suppliers and put together a first draft of the boards, and voila, perhaps the best add-on in our lineup!

This kit features four double-sided boards that are a quarter the size of the 20x20-space full board in the basic game. There are also two double-sided spacers you can use for streets.

In the basic game board, the spawn points are fixed; there are ten numbered spaces at intervals and in locations that are designed to give everyone an equal chance at the start of each scenario. Obviously you can't have pre-numbered spawn locations on modular boards, so ten laser-cut wood tokens (that match the item tokens) are provided to create your own spawn points.

I'm really excited about this add-on, as it unleashes players' creativity and adds a sandbox element to the system.

You may have noticed a jump in our total; this is partly a result of the demos run at the Siege of Augusta convention last weekend. Because of that show we've added another retailer (thanks, John). Also, watching the clock ticking down, some backers have increased their pledges and others have recruited friends into the campaign.

Many thanks for your generosity and passion for this project. Keep spreading the good word, and let's get this over the finish line!

All the best,

Forrest

PROGRESS REPORT
over 3 years ago – Mon, Jan 18, 2021 at 06:19:24 AM

Good morning backers,

We are a hair's breadth from $12,000 with 13 days to go. Thanks to everyone for your pledges, likes, and shares, and welcome new backers!

This weekend saw a major jump forward in support after the demos that were run at the Siege of Atlanta. Thanks to Jon Russell for his help and to everyone who pledged after playing the game.

Demo at Seige of Atlanta

A good time was had by all, and the level of enthusiasm was off the charts. If you were there and played, please relate your experiences in the comments below!

Today I will be working on the DIY kit, creating the sample graphics and pricing out the components. I hope to have the new add-on posted by mid week.

I'll leave you with the profile of another character from the basic game, The Hero:

Keep up the good work sharing this project far and wide, and I'll be back with more news soon.

All the best,

Forrest

Hi everyone,

We're almost to 12K. Thanks everyone, and new backers welcome!

A big thank you to Jon Russell who is running demos at Siege of Atlanta this weekend. We've added numerous new backers and one retailer. Thanks Jon!

Here are a couple of little gifts for you to mark the midway point of the campaign.

Do you have a 3D printer, or know someone who does? These will work best on one of the new liquid resin printers (Anycubic Photon, etc.). Print them to the size they're saved and you'll get a good sampling of the style of the cartoon minis, and you'll have a nifty old-west themed D3 for use in any game.

Everyone's printer is different, so I didn't include supports in the download. If you need help, let me know. Also let me know if for some reason these downloads don't work.

Those who have played with the cartoon figures have fallen in love with them. I hope you'll feel the same after being able to see how delicate and detailed they are up close. They probably present smaller than you might be imagining.

Keep up the good work everyone!
