GAME PLAY VIDEOS POSTED
over 3 years ago – Mon, Jan 11, 2021 at 04:33:21 AM

Hello Backers,

Yesterday afternoon featured a couple of live playthroughs of the game by the guys at Rocky's War Room. These were recorded and are now posted on YouTube. Watching these three friends laugh their way through two games of GR demonstrates exactly the experience we saw each time we playtested the game. If you have friends with any doubts about pledging, show them these videos. We picked up seven new backers during the broadcasts, and another in the evening after. Those who pledged because of these videos, thank you for joining us!

At the end of each video the guys recap their experiences and opinions of the game and miniatures; if you watch nothing else, watch these segments.

We were also interviewed yesterday by Brian Exner, one of the organizers of Power Up GG, a new convention in South Bend, Indiana.  Brian is doing a series of Twitch interviews with game developers. We had a nice chat about Gunfight Royale as well as Gunfighter's Ball and Knuckleduster Miniatures in general. My thanks to Brian for being such a great host!

Ok, gang. We are just about over the $10,000 threshold, at which point we'll be two-thirds of the way there!

All the best,

Forrest

OPTIONS, OPTIONS, OPTIONS
over 3 years ago – Sat, Jan 09, 2021 at 08:12:31 AM

Hi Everyone,

I have received a lot of requests from my Gunfighter's Ball customers about getting the game with only traditional 28mm figures. This did not fit with my original fulfillment plan.

I went back to my supplier quotes and my KS spreadsheet and yes, I can pull this off.

I have created the "Old Timer Option" for those who want to substitute traditional Gunfighter's Ball 28s for the cartoon figures in the game. This does mean that all figure kits for the game, GB or plastic GR cartoon figures, will be outside the shrink-wrapped game box at the time of fulfillment and you will add them in after opening. No other changes to the game can be made because the cards, board, etc. are printed at a very high volume as the minimum order.

This is only available at the Pistoleer and Loose Cannon levels (the Hero level is built around the cartoon figures and  GB players likely already have the clay poker chips we sell for that game).

HOW TO CHOOSE THIS OPTION: Simply pledge at the Pistoleer or Loose Cannon levels and at the end of the campaign, during the backer survey, you will have the option of figure style.

I have always had a strong commitment to my customers, and my Gunfighter's Ball folks have been the bedrock of our success. They were there during my 2017 GB Kickstarter which raised $42,000 in the campaign and another $20,000 during pre-orders, and their enthusiasm is on full display every day as they share their work on the Gunfighter's Ball Facebook Group. I do not want to see anyone pass on this fantastic little game for reasons of figure style. It would honestly be a great game using Legos for characters.

Now let's push this thing over the finish line!

All the best,

Forrest

Metal Figures and Other News
over 3 years ago – Fri, Jan 08, 2021 at 07:03:54 AM

Good Morning,

We stand at 8,586 this morning, and we're hoping to close the week over 9k. Spread the word!

If I were to do an ask-me-anything video chat session and show off the game, would you prefer Zoom or Discord? I use both. Please let me know in the comments.

Finally, here's a quick pic of the cast metal figures. This is the basic set that replaces the plastic figures in the game. They stand 27mm to the top of the (big) head.

(Not pictured are the octagonal bases you can glue them to to facilitate precise aiming.

Here's a shot of a figure along side some game materials for scale.

The card, by the way, is UV gloss-coated for safe use of dry-erase markers to cross off ammo as it's used.

Well, that's the news roundup for this morning! Here's to a productive day and let's push this project past the goal line!

All the best,

Forrest

Halfway There!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Jan 07, 2021 at 06:45:17 AM

Hi Everyone,

We have passed the halfway point in funding the project in under a week. Let's see if we can push it past the 15K point in the next week, then start unlocking stretch goals; the Giant and his friends await!

This pic has gone up as the Facebook page header at Everything Board Games (Thanks, Lake!). It links directly to the GR campaign home page on Kickstarter, so please share it with your friends and get them in on the project. We only need 140-150 backers at the extremely generous level you guys have been pledging and we're off to the races!

Thanks for each and every pledge, share, and comment you guys have made, and I'll be back with more info soon!

All the best,

Forrest
