Historicon Demos and New Backers

Hi Everyone,

And hello new backers!

We picked up two new backers at the Historicon convention in Pennsylvania week before last. Thanks to those of you who signed on after our demo, and welcome to the posse!

Printing of the game is in-process; the presses are rolling. Shipping is being arranged, and therein lies the rub, of course. This game will have to come through the infamous Port of Los Angeles which is likely to cause some delay. How much is not knowable at this point, so everyone cross your fingers and hope for the best. 

The token and poker chip upgrades are finished and in our shop, the basic sets in cartoon and GB metal are boxed up, and about half of the expansion characters are cast in metal. Plastic casting is scheduled but hasn't been completed (it's in the US, but not in our facility). The expansion boards are being printed by the same company doing the basic game, and they will both come in at roughly the same time, although the game is coming via ocean freight and the expansion boards will come airmail.

GUNFIGHT ROYALE PHYSICAL PROOF

Hi everyone,

The factory sent me photos of the physical proof before they shipped it yesterday.  I'll be getting it in the next week or two and I'll be able to approve the final production run. Once that's done, it won't take long for them to actually turn out the game; production and shipping will take a couple of months total.

Here are the pics. I'm stunned by the quality of the final product, and I can't wait to get the proof!

I'm very pleased with the quality of the components I'm seeing in the photos! 

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:

During the Kickstarter and pre-ordering currently underway, you receive a figure set included with the game (you can choose which format, of course). If your friends want in on the game and are willing to preorder, they will also be getting figures included in the $45 price of the game; after fulfillment, the figures will be extra. The boxed game includes full-color character chits instead of figures and the figures will be sold separately. So now is the time for them to get in on the game; preordering is still open at this point!

Preoder Time Extended

Hi everyone,

I was going to cut preorders off at September 30th, but we've ordered enough extra of the components needed from outside vendors that I can comfortably extend it into October or maybe even November. This will give time to bring in more buyers, and those of you who haven't completed the survey will have have more time to do so.

I will not have Backerkit run credit cards till just prior to fulfillment in late December or January, and I'll send out a reminder for you to update your address at that time. We want to make sure we don't ship to an old address!

Gunfight Royale at Gencon

Gunfight Royale Update

Hi everyone,

Production is rolling along!

Before going any further, I'd like to invite you to follow us on Instagram. I'm able to take quick snapshots of production and post them immediately on that platform:

Now on to the fun stuff.

I'm expecting the first hard copy proof of the game in a week or thereabouts. You can be sure that I'll be doing a lot of posts when it comes in!

The expansion boards are finished and ready to go to production. Our designer has them now and is working his technical magic to assure that the printed product is up to snuff.

These will be mounted on double-sided boards, four 10x10s and one 5x10; if I remember correctly, the pairs are left-to-right above, with the exception of the half-size spacer board whose halves are top and bottom in the image.

Figure casting is proceeding according to schedule. The metal is well along. The plastic figures will be coming in late October or early November.
