Gunfight Royale Update

Hi everyone,

Are we all checking our watches at this point? I know I am. 

The plastic figures I posted pics of last time are being bagged up and readied to send to me. The cards and boards were delayed by an incorrect card in the batch (my fault) that I spotted when they sent the digital proof that would have been the last step before printing. They've now had the new file all week and I'm waiting to hear when the job will be run and shipped. 

I've been through the Kickstarter process before, but this time I've had to rely on outside vendors much more. Coincidentally, 2021-22 was the worst possible time to have to rely on outside vendors! I know the guys supplying the last two batches of stuff, and they are professionals in the industry who I've worked with before. Although their delivery times were wayyyy off their estimates (more than once), there is no doubt that they'll come through.

I'll send pics of stuff as it comes in, and when I get tracking numbers on everything, I'll close down Backerkit and have them run cards and check addresses.

Thank you all so much for your dedication to this game. I know it's been hard to wait, but I promise it will be worth it!

Plastic Figures Almost Done!

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share the following photo of work in progress from the company in Utah making our plastic figures. They are beautiful! I expect them to ship to us this week.

I approved digital proofs of the expansion cards and boards and after they run the job they will be air-freighted to me, so no sea monsters involved!

Thanks for your patience over the past few months; the "final stretch"  has lasted far longer than I anticipated, to say the least!

Hello everyone,

Here we are in the dog days of summer waiting, like Eli Wallach at the beginning of Once Upon A Time in the West! 

I spoke to the two suppliers with parts outstanding. Both the plastic figures and the expansion printed material (cards and boards) will be here during the first two weeks of August. I can say with a lot of confidence now that we'll be fulfilling by the end of August. Both companies have worked with me before and both are top notch outfits who have come through in past projects, so I have no doubt that we'll be sending out games before long.

I'll be at Twisted Lords Convention in Oklahoma City at the Warlord USA booth giving demos and showing off the game. If you happen to be from that neck of the woods, please come by and say hi!

Thanks for your patience while we all wait. I think we all need an iced tea and a rocking chair!

News from the Factory

Hello everyone,

Just a quick update. I got word from the overseas factory confirming quantities for the expansion boards and cards; this means they're ready to print. They will airfreight this job to us, so once they finish putting everything together, we'll have it pretty quickly.

The plastic casting is going well; they only have the Lone Rider timekeeper figure to finish up.

The tokens for the bears and modular expansion board set have arrived (thank you, Phalanx Consortium).

I don't want to jinx it, but I think we'll be ready to start fulfillment within a few weeks!

Once we start fulfillment, we can move forward producing additional characters, boards, cards, and scenarios. I have my entire catalog of Gunfighter's Ball sculpts I can use to derive new cartoon gunfighters from, and I already have additional sculpts lined up.

Well this is progress!

86 boxes of games have arrived; the entire shipment!

What didn't arrive with them was the cards needed for stretch goals, the plastic tray liners, and the expansion map boards. The factory (same one) has been shut down since March due to the severe Covid lockdown in China. Supposedly they are opening back up and will continue production of jobs in their queue. 

The good news is these will be air-freighted when complete, so no chance of them getting marooned on a desert island with Gilligan and the Skipper!

I'm also waiting on plastic figures, but I'm in close contact with that company (here in the States) and they're very close to having them done (like a couple of weeks).

The hardest part of the whole process is done and the games are safely at Knuckleduster headquarters!

I will keep you posted as soon as I know more about the second shipment.
